Vintage Coblentz Original Evening Bag Coin Purse Mirror Black Silk Style Jeweled This gorgeous vintage Coblentz Original evening bag purse set will make a fabulous addition to your collection. It features a classic frame bag profile covered in black silk style fabric covering that is layered horizontally in bands across the form of the bag (I am not sure if the material is actually silk or not as it isn't marked), a single matching strap handle, gold tone metal hardware, rhinestone accents and the original matching coin purse and a Coblentz Original Sealtite brown plastic compact mirror. Will blend perfectly with era styles ranging from 1940s-1960s, and styles such as retro, mod and more. It does have wear including fraying, wear to the gold tone plating, and more so please read complete details below and review photos closely for condition. Thank you and enjoy! ITEM DETAILS: Approximate weight is 12 ozs total including all 3 itemsThe bag body measures approximately 2.25" deep x 6.5" wide x 6" tall not including the strap handle or hardware. The strap is tapered and measures approximately .75" wide at each end and tapers down to .5" wide at the middle/top. The strap vertical drip is approximately 3.75" down to the top of the purse frame. The coin purse is approximately .5" x 3" x 4.25" overall including the hardware. The mirror is approximately .25" x 2.75" x 3.5". Condition: In vintage pre-owned used condition with wear including fraying on the black material around the clasp and hinges, the bottom of the bag is bowed out a bit/rounded and doesn't stand up on it's own, white residue on the black material around the hinges/corners/frame/edges, loose fibers/lent, the black silk style material is highly attractive to dust/dirt/lent, the gold tone plating on the metal strap posts & rings is heavily worn with plating loss on the rings in addition to patina/tarnish/rust, one of the strap rings tends to come undone (it gradually turns itself around until the ring gap comes out of the post...I would recommend replacing the rings), loose threads/stitches, dirt, dust, makeup residue, wear to the fabric on the edges/corners, fading, the strap covering has some wrinkling/creases/folds, stains, fading, discoloring, the strap is a bit stiff and curls up on the ends, the clasp/lock is a bit dull around the edges with plating loss, to open the frame the bag design requires that you hold the clasp lock open with one hand and pull on the top band of layered fabric to pull open, the hinge caps are silver tone metal and I am not sure if they were originally gold tone, the inside is a bit dusty with white residue around the hinges, slight smell of vintage perfume/makeup/scent, the plastic on the mirror is scratched and the glass style reflective surface of the mirror is scratched/fogging/hazy/dulling with some degradation on the backing of the reflective surface, the gold hardware on the coin purse has plating loss/dulling/patina, there is wrinkling and creases on the bag material, all 3 pieces could use a proper cleaning, white residue on the black fabric, small white specks on the black fabric, dulling, dirt, dust, grime, patina, tarnish, discoloring, stains, scuffing, scratching on the hardware, and overall wear from age and handling. Please see photos for details.Age/era: Unknown, I am guessing that it was made sometime between the 1960s-1980s but I cannot guarantee. The Coblentz script logo was trademarked in 1949. The mirror design was patented in 1969.Origin: USA, United StatesMarks: Inside of bag includes a gold foil mark that reads COBLENTZ ORIGINAL. The mirror is marked COBLENTZ SEALTITE U.S. PAT. 3445151.
